Criteria
1. They have to be recognized by their family members as positive role model.
2. They have to have been a historian of family history sharing with family members and friends through storytelling, dance,
music or photos and preserving the family traditions.
3. They may only be nominated by a grandson or great-grandson.
4. They must authorize SWHCA to do a short oral history for our award ceremony.
5. They must authorize SWHCA to take photos for award ceremony and web-site.
6. They must be available to be recognized at the following events:

a. Fiestas Patrias Kick Off “Chorizo Breakfast” Friday, September 19th
8:30a to 10:30a at Festival Fields in Avondale, Arizona (Central Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road)
b. SWHCA Queen Coronation and Tribute Ceremony to be held on Friday, September 19, 2008 at 6:00p
(Arrival time will be 5:45p)

| “2008 Abuelito Awards” Nomination Information Deadline: August 31, 2008 This award is to recognize those “Abuelitos” (Grandfathers or Great-Grandfathers) who have lived the mission of the SWHCA of preserving the richness of their family history and traditions. |
